*this refers to working with families with children under the age of 6 when there is no preschool in the community

social service providers for families with children
employees of daycare centers or shelters for families with children
those who plan and organize social services in the community
You need this course, if you
you are head or employee of a governmental or non-governmental organization that works with internally displaced families with children aged 0 to 3-6 years
you don’t have enough knowledge of working with families in crisis and difficult life circumstances
want to have an understanding of child’s development and the possibilities for intervention
have no family support strategies
want to use a family-oriented approach in your work
wish to implement intersubjective interaction in the community

by ILDC based on the adapted practice of the Sure Start program (based on the experience of the United States, England and Hungary)
in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine
taking into account the experience of NGO “ILDC” in developing training programs

Conceptual principles of work of “Sure Start” Centers
As a result, you will
know the principles of the “Sure Start” Program
understand the inclusion of the family in the Program

Key aspects of working with families with children

have knowledge about the basic concepts of working with families in difficult life circumstances
know how to use family-oriented approach in your work
understand the consequences of domestic violence of children and how it threatens child safety

Organizing work with families: establishing contact, needs assessment

know how to organize work with the family and establish contact
have knowledge of the main stages of the casework process and their features
be able to assess the needs of the family and the individual and have methods of collecting information
understand the process of conducting individual and family interviews

Effective interagency cooperation to work with families
