How does the course “Prevention of Sexual Violence and Exploitation” influence the participants’ daily practice? What do they carry with them into their professional lives? And what leaves the biggest impression?
Kateryna Slinko — a volunteer at the CO CF “THE HELP IS ME”, PhD in Law, and currently a lecturer on protecting vulnerable groups in Brazil — shared her reflections on taking the course “Prevention of Sexual Violence and Exploitation”. Her words leave no one indifferent.
Kateryna also emphasized that this knowledge will be useful in her volunteer work
I will be able to identify and recognize children who have become victims of sexual violence and are in urgent need of help. This will enable me to provide them with the necessary support and resources to ensure their safety and aid their recovery.
She was particularly impressed by the topic of “green rooms” and the “Barnahus” model:
I really appreciated the information and experience gained from the topic of ‘green rooms’ and the ‘Barnahus’ model. Both approaches have tremendous potential for ensuring the safety and support of children affected by violence.
In conclusion, she noted:
The knowledge I gained in this course will help me not only in my teaching but also in practical work with children who have suffered from violence. This, in turn, will contribute to creating a safer environment for children in our society.
