October 3–4, Kyiv / October 11–12, Chernivtsi. In October, the team of the International Leadership and Development Center (ILDC) conducted two independent two-day trainings for the staff of the System of Legal Aid Guaranteed by the State. Each training had its own target audience, objectives, and program: in Kyiv, the focus was on heads of departments, while in Chernivtsi, participants included specialists who develop and support the practice of supervision. The trainings were organized by the Coordination Centre for Legal Aid Provision with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine within the framework of the project EU4Recovery – Empowering Communities in Ukraine, funded by the European Union.

KYIV | October 3–4 — for managers: «Developing Managerial Competencies: Supportive Leadership and Change Management»
Target audience:
managers and heads of structural units of the Coordination Centre for Legal Aid Provision.
Objective:
to enhance managerial competencies essential for effective leadership, teamwork, and successful implementation of change.
Key topics:
- the role of a leader in an organization; the balance between management and leadership;
- building and developing effective teams;
- change management and overcoming resistance;
- communication as a tool for support and development.
Participants highlighted the practical focus of the tools and the opportunity to immediately apply the acquired approaches in their daily management practices. The two-day module concluded with reflection sessions, alignment of individual action plans for change, and the presentation of certificates.

CHERNIVTSI | October 11–12 — for specialists: «Supervision as a Tool for Quality Service Delivery and Professional Development»
Target audience:
representatives of the departments of professional development, electronic communications, client service, and legal aid provision.
Objective:
to build a shared understanding of supervision within the System of Legal Aid Guaranteed by the State and to practice the basic skills of its implementation.
Key topics:
- concepts, principles, and functions of supervision;
- the process model and roles/responsibilities of a supervisor;
- ethical aspects and professional boundaries;
- designing a safe supervisory space;
- simulation of real-life situations and group reflection.
As a result, the team developed a common understanding of the role of supervision within the System of Legal Aid Guaranteed by the State and outlined further steps for advancing this practice.

Participants emphasized the interactive format and noted that the trainings became not only a source of new knowledge but also a valuable team-building experience.
