Project "CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT OF REGIONAL SOCIAL SERVICE CENTERS IN KHARKIV, DNIPROPETROVSK AND ZAPOROZHІA REGIONS"
The project is being implemented within the framework of the program “Strengthening Resources for Sustainable Development of Host Communities in Eastern Ukraine,” which is a component of the cluster “Perspectives for the Development of Eastern Regions of Ukraine” by the German Society of international cooperation Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, supported by the Federal Government of Germany
Goal
Strengthening the capacity of regional social service centers (SSCs) in Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhia regions to implement an effective training system for the development of professional competencies of social sector workers who provide social services to the population.

Project objectives
Development of a capacity development plan for the Social Service Centers (SSCs) to implement a training system for social sector workers
Improving the capacity of coaches in regional centers of social services
Development of organizational capacity and sustainability of the training system in the SSCs
Project activities
Assessment of the capacity and strengths of each SSC to implement the training system
Creation a common vision and setting goals for the development of the SLC for each region through a strategic facilitated session
Analysis of the educational needs of social service providers in the communities of the regions
Selection of candidates for coaches
Training of coaches on the following topics: “Fundamentals of coaching mastery” “Managing group dynamics and dealing with difficulties in the learning process” “Innovative tools for working with groups” “Development of training programs”
Expert support from ILDC for SSCs coaches in the development of new educational programs
Expert support from ILDC for SSCs coaches in conducting new educational programs
Training of SSC teams on elements of the training system to support the sustainability of the training system
Development of methodology and assessment tools for evaluating the effectiveness of training in collaboration with experts, managers, and trainers of SSCs
Development of tools and consultations on the effectiveness of training organization
Identification of further development paths for the training system in SSCs through a training-facilitated session
Consultations with representatives of SSCs on supporting the sustainability of the training system
Project results
38 coaches have been prepared to conduct training sessions (including online sessions)
Training of SSC coaches has been conducted using newly developed programs
A training manual for coaches titled ‘Simplifying Complexity: Innovative Methods for Working with Groups’ has been developed
SSC staff members possess tools for organizing effective training
Leaders, experts, and coaches of SSCs understand how to make training systematic, qualitative, and effective
13 new training programs have been developed by SSC coaches
SSCs understand the methodology and utilize monitoring and evaluation tools for assessing the effectiveness of training
