Its consequences have a strong, long-term impact on brain function, mental health, and the emergence of health-risk behaviors. Violence against children undermines the potential of both children and society as a whole. The task of professionals working in the field of child welfare and all responsible adults is to prevent child abuse, including sexual abuse and exploitation. But identifying and working with cases of sexual abuse may be extremely difficult.

Main concepts and consequences of child abuse
